After 16 years of using Macs, I recently switched from my trusty but aging PowerBook to a Toshiba laptop. Why the switch? For several reasons: some of the devices I am using fail to work when hooked up to a Mac due to the Mac putting those .DS_Store and "dot" hidden files. 2) the lack of a decent Mac tablet pc; the ModBook does exist but costs a whopping $600 just to convert an existing Mac into a tablet PC. For $400 I bought a Toshiba tablet PC. this is not to say that I no longer like Macs; on the contrary, I love Macs more than I love PCs, it's just that I cannot find any affordable Mac laptop that acts as a tablet. when one does come down the pipeline _and_ is affordable, then I'll probably buy it.
